Belger Arts is Hiring a Communications Assistant Near Kansas, MO

This position is responsible for creating physical and digital promotional materials, social media, website updates, photographing and editing images of artwork that are on view and/or for sale.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create online and printed promotional material including email newsletters;
  • Update and maintain email and address lists of media contacts and customers;
  • Take promotional images of exhibitions and related programs;
  • Update area event and calendar listings;
  • Update and maintain the website;
  • Photograph and edit images of all incoming artwork for exhibitions and work for sale in the gallery and upload them to the website;
  • Photograph a variety of events on weekends and evenings, such as First Fridays;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Outstanding customer service skills;
  • Comfortable working in an active, creative, and dynamic public setting;
  • Reliable, punctual, and respectful;
  • Works well on a team, and independently;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Suite, Squarespace Website Builder, GetResponse online marketing software, and Google Chrome.
  • Ability to drive to all Belger Arts locations;
  • Valid driver’s license.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field;
  • Experience working in the arts sector preferred;
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work flexibly on weekdays and weekends.

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

  • Kansas City, MO 64108: Relocate before starting work (Required)
